This workshop develops the key competencies required for supervisors and managers in any organization. It is for individuals currently working in managerial positions who wish to improve their ability to adapt to the change of pace in their responsibilities, and who want to gain fresh insights into the nature of their work role.

As a manager, you begin managing an employee’s performance from day one. A good orientation with clear expectations, appropriate training and the coaching that is part of follow-up, the performance conversations, and the more formal performance review; these are all part of managing employee performance.

Understanding Projects gives you the nuts and bolts of project management, from when you have been asked to take on a project to reporting on the results. We cover planning, identifying project goals, leading the team, monitoring progress, and letting go of your project when it is completed.

The Myers Briggs Type Indicator can help you understand why you find some people easy to be with, to work, talk or have fun with, whereas with others it tends to be stressful or hard work; how you seem to be in sync with some people and out of step with others; how you quite consistently meet the expectations of some individuals and frequently disappoint others. Perhaps more importantly, it can help you understand yourself..

We face conflict in small and subtle ways every day. The better we are equipped to handle these things the better you will be at work. Be more effective in your role. Learn how to deal with conflict as a professional. When it comes to conflict, too often we choose to avoid it or fight it out, because we don't see that we have other choices.

During this one day workshop you can assess your own tendency to be a difficult person, learn some techniques for preventing difficulties from arising in the first place and develop some strategies for dealing with those that do come along. Dealing with Difficult People will help you handle those difficult people in your life. Regardless of your position, your success and your organization's success is influenced by the quality of your relationship with your co-workers and employees. You will learn how to influence and improve those relationships, through understanding how your tone of voice, your choice of words, your body language, and the context in which you speak influence the message. You will explore assertiveness, gender issues in communication, and differing communication styles.

Each generation has its own distinct characteristics, values, and attitudes toward work, based on its generation's life experiences. To successfully integrate these diverse generations into the workplace, companies and their employees will need to embrace radical changes to create a culture that actively demonstrates respect and inclusion for its multi-generational work force.
